Question traction???????

ok with the mods below plus i am ading headers 1.6 rr and nos dry kit this winter. i had a little bit of traction problom before with street tires. so i am planning on buying street slicks whats a good one. plus is there anything else i can do to hook up a little bit better. i got a stock bottom end so i am not planning on lauching to hard. remove front sway bay, put some springs out of a v6 in the rear. or what should i do???

You may want to try some lower control arms and definately some sticky tires.

I have 4.10's in my car and traction is a huge problem especially in 1st gear. On the spray my car breaks loose in 3rd gear. I also have 17'' rims and that has alot to do with it.

Good luck.

The only way I can get traction launching with 4.30's and juice is with ET streets. Run 'em at 10 PSI, heat em up, rev it to 6000 rpm, and let er rip . I get NO tire spin

I wish i could do that. Good thing you have that 9'' rearend. Et's would break our factory rearends with to many hard launches.

thats for sure, theres no way you could do that on the stock rear for more than a couple times. i would say just get some e.t. streets and be done with it.

Im gonna go with some BFG DR's and some lower control arms. Hopefully, this will help my traction problem on motor. I dont have the money for a 9'' rearend right now, so I'll have to find something else to do.

Before I got my 9 inch, I ran BFG DR's. Ran countless 1/4 passes with 5000 rpm clutch dumps and never had a problem with my 10 bolt with 4.10's. They were still quiet when I swapped in my 9 inch.

Whats up Russ? What should I do to get some more traction from these 4.10s? Do you think I would be safer going with the Nitto DR's and a set of lower control arms? I need something to help me grab a little better. Any suggestions?

I liked the Nitto drag radials on the street, they worked really well there. But they sucked at the track. Bfgs were way better at the track, but no quite as good on the street with less heat.

Well, what would you suggest that I do. If the BFG's are too sticky and my break my rearend. And the Nitto DR's dont hook that good on the track, how can I get some better traction. Honestly, I dont care that much about the track. I just want to make a few good runs on the nitrous and the rest is done on the street. After I get my car paid off and get me another car as a daily driver. Ill replace my rearend and do the cam and heads then. I just need something now for better launching on the street and for the nos on the street. Right now, I cant even slam 1st gear at 2000rpm's on the street. The tires just spin like crazy. Im sure the Nitto's and some lower control arms will help me out some. Well, I hope they will. What do you think???

I would say to get ET Streets. I use to have a set of 275/60/r15 BFG Drag Radials. They never hooked on na runs and I never tried the gas on them.

They will definately do better than street tires. But I would not look for some blistering 60ft times with them.
