Track Times
Went to the track for the first time and I was a little dissapointed.
Mods I have done to my car is an SLP CAI, Flomaster catback and B&M ripper and 17 x9.5" rims w/275 tires.
I didn't launch my car on any of the runs, but about 30' or so of the line I was spinning through 1st and midway through 2nd.
My last run I redlighted but just barely.
What do you guys think I should do different.
First run:
R/T .990
60' 2.274
330 6.272
1/8 9.574
MPH 74.63
1000 12.393
1/4 14.799
MPH 94.04
2nd run

2.179
6.138
9.392
75.91

Depending on the elevation you're at, your car might be running where it should. The only real performace mod you have is a CAI. Flowmaster just sucks.
Get your 60' down in the 2.0 range and it'll run better. You're in Canada, so I would say elevation is your enemy at this point.

Where are you located? I am in Vancouver and we race at Mission raceway the elevation there is dead on sea level.

The track I was at was Toronto Motorsports dragway.I think the altitude is around 700 ft. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't think my car is running that great to be honest. Once in a while I throw a code. I will scan the computer when I do my jet hot install this week. I think it might be one of my spark plugs.

Were you there last Saturday? I was there and with my only mod being an SLP catback my best time that day was 13.75. My mph was off though, only 98.5 on that run, and only 99.3 on a later run (with a 13.76) My 60ft on the first run was 1.95, and 2.00 on the second.
If my trap speeds were closer to where they normally run (over 100) I would've run a 13.55 most likely.
Did you cool the engine down between runs? I run my best when I open the hood and point it to the wind and then get the upper intake stone cold. If I hotlap it, I end up running low 14s instead.
Traction was very good there up until the late afternoon, then it went away big time.

I've looked over this post again and decided to add more stuff to help out my fellow LT1 owner from the Toronto area!
The mph is definitely low, it should have been over 100 mph that day since the temp was in the mid to low 50s, humidity was below 50% and the barometer was 30.3", so conditions were favorable.
I would suggest that if you haven't done all the tune up items on the car, then begin right there. Plugs, wires, coil, 02 sensors, fuel filter, air filter, etc. All of these things can contribute to lower power if they have lots of miles on them. Before I took my car to the track for the first time I had most of these things done, and ran a 13.89 my first time out. Then my 02 sensors were replaced and that's when I ran my 13.74. So these things definitely need to be in tip top shape to get the most performance.
It's also possible that your catalytic converter could be on it's last legs too. When that starts to go you'll notice your MPG sucks big time and your power level drops too.
Also be sure to run good gas too, I like to run Sunoco 94 when I race, although I believe I was running Esso 91 last fall when I ran my 13.68. It wouldn't have mattered too much that day though since temps were very cold (37F) so I probably wouldn't have gotten any spark retard even with only 91 octane.

Patman
Nice times.
I was there on April 25 weekend.
I didn't cool my car down. Next time I go I will.
By the time I got to the staging lights my car was running round 110Celcius. So my car was running hot.
I also didn't lower the air pressure on the rear tires. Set at 30 lbs.
I just had my car e-tested and it passed with no problems. Really low readings. I always run 94 Sunoco also, so fuel wasn't the problem.
When I install my long tubes I'm going to do an overhaul on my ignition and O2 sensors.

That hot running engine was causing you to lose a lot of power for sure.
I think I remember seeing your car now, it's silver right?
The 30psi in the rears is fine, that's what I was running on Saturday and cut a 1.95 60ft like that (on Goodyear F1 GS D3s)

Yeah my car is silver. I think I saw you there also.
How do you keep your car cool in the staging lanes?
I had my heat on full blast to try and lower the engine temp but no such luck.

Went to the track today and improved my times.
Replaced my accessory belt.
Ran a 14.075 @ 99.66 mph. w/ .209 R/T and 2.151 60'.
Overall I'm pretty happy. Just got to get that 60' down.
