torque arm pinion angle setting...

I asked this in the drivetrain forum .. only got 1 answer ...

question is ... getting a spohn arm .. what shoud i set the angle to ? does the optimum angle change according to the hp and traction ur putting out ?? or is it a set number for any application ?

someone said -2 degrees ...

fwiw i'll have 500-550 rwhp and 28x10.5 ET drags ...

i frankly couldnt care less about the comfort factor ... i just wanna know whats optimum for the launching impact from the diff ..

It really depends on your ride. Everybody is different, I would start at -3 and go from there. Some cars need -6, some need -1 ..

I have mine at -4 and liked it there with the M6, but, just put a TH400 in it and I think I am going to have to change it some..

Was just looking at the NED paper and saw the CAMARO/FIREBIRD meet the 26th of October,is that a big meet?

I loved the atmosphere at the Nationals,WE are sure to be back next year[maybe the last].

It wasn't what he needed,,,,,,,,,

Had you thought of doing a little cross border yourself?The 5th of october at SANAIR??

oh my .. someone has a little heart i didnt mean to break it man .. al i was saying is that . i dont care for "comfort" setting .. i appritiate ur reply .. no need to delete it ... but my point is .. i want to know how to set it up for more aggressive launching as opposed to having a quiet ride down the hwy

That is why I put up with low speed rumble,highway[fast] cruise speed and my trap speed are about the same[110mph] !!!

Ganeral rule of thumb. As a starting point. -1 to -2 for autos -3 for sticks. Then test from there.
