Thumbs up Took the win in the 11.00 index class!

LS1Tech.com's Spring Break Shootout was this past Sunday, and we were one of the sponsors. We took Jason's '99 'vette and my SS. He was entered in the extreme street class, and I was in the 11.00 index class. We went down on Friday to get the C5 on the dyno. The new 396 cid off-set ground stock crank setup put down 481 RWHP N/A! We retuned REALLY fat for nitrous use and tried out the first stage of TNT 150. It netted 623 RWHP. Jason has a second stage dry shot wired up that will put the combo over 700 RWHP, but we didn't try it. The clutch wouldn't hold the first stage on the dyno. You can read more about it here: http://www.ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?...ic;f=1;t=012289

We went out for some TNT racing Friday night at San Antonio Raceway. I was going to try out the 150 HP shot of nitrous, but the connector you plug up to under the dash is bad on my car. I couldn't retune for the big shot. So, I just stuck with the 100 HP shot. It netted a 10.71 @ 125 MPH on a 1.47 60'.

The weather for the shootout on Sunday was not anything stellar. It rained nearly all morning, and we thought it was going to get canceled. It finally cleared up, and the sun came out. Then it got hot and muggy. The density altitude was right around 2,700'. We'd love to have that D.A. here in West Texas, though! I knew the conditions wouldn't net me low low 11's like I needed for the 11.00 index, so I threw in the NX 50 HP jets. The SS was good for high 11.40's/low 11.50's N/A that day, and that wasn't going to cut it. The 50 HP shot pushed it to a best of 11.11 @ 121 MPH with a 1.53 60', and it was good enough for the win! You can see the video of me running Paul from Thunder Racing HERE It was a VERY close race! He ran an 11.22 to my 11.18, but I had him by .05 on the tree. Too bad the announcer couldn't pronounce my last name. He used every possible variation but the correct one. LOL

It was nice to bring home a little cash to pay for the weekend's expenses. It's always great going to the LS1 and LT1 shootouts because you get to see what all of the other cars are doing on the same day at the same track. There were quite a few heads/cam cars that have bests in the 10.8-10.9 ET range that were running in the 11.4-11.5 range all day. I'm anxious to try out our new cam when it makes it in. It should work really well with my heads!

I saw your car out there. Good Job!

I was running Target E.T. Brackets and came up short at the end. Got Runner-UP. Double break-out. I broke out by .084 and he broke out by .068. Oh well, maybe next year.
