Too much power?
Too much power?
okay im looking into nitrous. the NX hitman kit. 100-200 shot. ill use 150. now say i have 450 horsepower once im done with heads and cam. thatll give me 600 horsepower. will my 2 bolt main be able to handle that? along with my 10 bolt rearend?
its a 10 bolt posi 4.56. is that too much power. i wanna make sure before i go spending money. also. will it be hard to keep my tires planted once the nitrous kicks in at 3000 rpm?

Well, I don't know alot about 1st gens but that is a crazy heads/cam setup to get 450rwhp. If so, then yes. You would have to step down the gearing to maybe 3.73s.
Again I don't know how strong the rear is but if it's like a 4th gens rear it will blow up. I would invest in a new rear end after you change the gearing/heads cam. No nitrous until you get a new rear end unless you like racing from 80mhp rolls.
As far as 2 bolt main....Again, I would'nt try it but I know nothing about 1st gens just about LT1s.

Me and my buddies race sprint cars. We have 2, a 360 and a 410 that we race in the outlaw races, both have 4 bolt billet mains, you need it when you make 650HP out of a NA 360CID chevy. There are many LT1/LS1 guys with heads, cam and nitrous on the stock bottom end but very few that have 450rwhp + a 200 shot on top of it. You might be pushing your luck with the 2 bolt.
As for your car, you should have an 8.5" rear-end and not the 7.5" rear like in the newer camaros. The 8.5" will take alot more power before it breaks.
