I don't think you really can unless you have a line lock. If you do, you can let the clutch "drag" slightly until you launch, using the line lock to keep the car from keeping forward. In any case, if for some reason you need to back up to get the car staged, don't. That would leave a maximum amount of slack in the drivetrain, which is to be avoided. If you do go too far and need to back up, go back at least 5-10 feet and get the car lined up as you pull back to the staging light going forward.

Drag radials are only slightly stickier than street tires so don't launch at a high rpm. Buy or borrow some ET streets for real traction.

275-50? didnt know they made a 16" drag radial in that size, i thought it was only 255-50.....

EDIT: those must be the G-force drag radials and not the Comp T/A's?

i personally have found that preloading doesn't work well, with my suspension setup i have found it is better to shock the tires, helps plant them harder, you can talk to 100 people and everyone will say something diff... The best way to figure out how to launch it trail and error, see what works best for you and your car just my .02

I would be surprised if you could hit 12s with your power level but if you can hook well enough its possible. BFG drag radials will hook good on a GOOD track. There have been guys run REALLY fast with the BFG Drag Radials.

well the car weighed 3188 (ruffly 3425 with me) without me and a half tank of gas and no the scales werent off, there just aint much inside the car
i went 83.xxmph in the 8th and 13.51 @almost 107mph in the 1/4 all on a "bogged" not spinning 60' ft (not enuf rpm to get out of the hole) i think if i can get out of the hole at 2800-3000rpm or so it will be a different story.........
and from what i know and have seen, .1 off the 60' is good for .15-.2 on the topend so if i can cut atleast .4 off my 60' (2.26 down to 1.86) then i should see atleast a 12.91.......
my car put down 298rwhp and 311rwtq on the stock tune (with mods in the sig)

you really think 12's arent possible?

It is possible but you will have to hook up to do it.

12 lbs of air, dump it at 5000. Thats what I used to do anyways, got a 1.74 out of 'em. Might have to venture down to 10 lbs or so...

Buy a line lock if you dont have one. Burn up the bfg's til you see smoke for a second or two. Drop the cluth or slip it out(what ever works for you). With the air same applies start around 16 or 17 and work your way down. If you get them too low when your going 110 at the end of the track you'll see why. Like said before some guys have got really good 60ft times with bfg dr's. your sig. shows you still in the 2's you need to get into the high ones at least to see the results your probably looking for.

well the BFG's are out of the equation now
i picked up some 26/10.5/16 ET Streets

anyone have any tips for me with those tires?
i've been told 15-16psi smokey burnout to get'em hot and start at about 3500-4000rpm and work my way up from there on each pass......
what do you guys think?

15-16 is still kinda high....the LOW 60 foot guys will recommend around 12 psi, because when you do a good burnout the heat will expand the air inside the tire and make it a lot more than the pressure you set up
