Re: tips on launching on auto

i never drove any lt1 auto with stock gears/converter, but i've driven others and it seems as if you footbrake it just past idle (lets say 1000 rpm in an lt1) and 3/4 the throttle off the line, depending on whether u have 2.73's or 3.23's. u more like likely want a little bit of wheel spin to get the rpms up since the converter is stock. hope this helps

Re: tips on launching on auto

When I leave the line I bring the rpms up just passed idle to around 1200, and then I roll into the throttle until I get to about 10mph, then I put the pedal to the metal. Last track outing I had 6 sub 1.8 60' s and one 1.69 on a stock rear, and nitto drag radials. (Then again I have a 2800 stall vigilante so this might not do squat for you.)
