...2 broken U-joints!!!

Yep, 2 Fridays ago, we took my Dad's car to the track ('73 in sig) to try and beat our previous best 12.79 since we recently installed the 4.10 gears.

On the 2nd run (first being a 13.7) I did a nice smokey burn-out with the ET Streets, lined up, revved to ~4000+ RPM and dumped the clutch! All the car did was go "bang!" It didn't even move forward enough to break the beam to start the clock! Thanks goodness we brought the car down on a trailer.

BOTH U-joints snapped, and one of the ears on the front end of the driveshaft broke out (we think that's where the problem started ). I'll try to post a couple pictures to show you guys..........it was disappointing but funny all at the same time. On a "positive" note, at least we know the tires hooked!!!

........maybe it's time for an auto??

Try puttin a little preload on the drivetrain, see if it lasts a little longer.

I'm not letting you drive my car! hehehe
