Those with 4.10 gears come in.

I am finishing up my car this weekend and put a Moser 12bolt with 4.10's in it. I always ran high gears (3.42's,3.55's) and wanted to know what rpm you guys cross at, mph and what size tire? I know it will cross on mtotr but don't think it will be able to cross on n2o with a 7k rpm limit. I have 28" M/T Drag radials and thinking about maybe going with a 30" tall tire for spray. I plan on running over 136mph on n2o. LMK Later Clint

Well I'm not running the MPH that you are but my set up is 4.10s, PT4000 converter, Hoosier QTPs 27-11.50x15 and I cross the line at 6500 @ 120 mph.

Stepping up to 28s this year. Trying the Hoosier 275/60x15 drag radials.

I'm running 28 X 10 slicks, 4.10 gear and a 4,000 stall converter and I cross the line at 130 at 7,400 rpm.

probably need a 29.5 tire due to converter slippage. But the only way to know for sure is to try it out on the 28" tires and if you run out of RPM then you'll know. RPM calculator I just checked said 7k rpm, 28" tire, and 1:1 trans gear should be good for 142 mph without taking into account converter slippage.

Thats what I was thinking about 125-127mph@7k so I will probably just swp to 3.73'sonce I get the car to run up to par on motor but it should run hard to the 1/8th mile with the 4.10's and n2o. I'll let you guys knowwhat it does shortly. later Clint

Clint,
28" Tire, 4500 Converter, 6500, trapping 122.

Weather should be good Friday Night, hopefully it will dip in the 10's.

Thanks for the info guys. I don't see how you can get 157mph@7400rpms with 4.10's. How tall are the tires and the converter must be really effficient. Later

30" with growth, and yes when you pay a grand for a converter it better be efficient!
