Angry TERRIBLE track times!!!

Ok i went to the track, hoping to make some new times, and i did terrible. Weather was good and temp too.

my first run 13.9 @ 101.1, 2.4 60ft
2nd 14.0 @ 97.2, 2.5 60ft
3rd 14.3 @ 102.3 2.2 60ft
4th 14.2 @ 101.9 2.4 60ft
5th 14.2 @104.5 2.3 60 ft
6th 13.9 @ 104.8 2.2 60 ft

The last times i went to the track, i averaged 13.7. I have 2.73 gears, so i'm not expecting low 13s. But i'd like to hit 13.5.
My best time has been 13.665 @ 103.5, 2.195 60ft

the first 4 runs, my tires were at 35 psi, the last 2 = 24 psi.
Also, the first 4 runs i removed the K&N filter. the last two, i put it back in. (higher mph???) I have kumho ecsta 712's 275/40/17. Traction wasn't a major problem.

Can someone help me on this???

I would say it was a problem. Get some DR's or ET's you'll see a big gain when the 60ft goes down.

so its just the traction that is getting me those bad times?
Cuz, the days that i got 13.6's and 13.7's were all on 2.2 60 ft times, with only a little wheelspin. I can't afford DR's right now. Saving for engagement ring. Priorities. I want to improve without changing anything. I'm sure, with practice I could hit 13.49

Practice and cool weather. I cant imagine Cali is real mild this time of year, probably heating up nicely. What about humidity?

The weather + traction can be enough to kill the times, and the 60's are killing you.

I suppose the gears could be really killing your sixty foot time, but more likely it is a matter of launch rpms and traction. I'm not blaming the weather, except for maybe track temp being too high to stick, because your mph is good enough for 13.4s-13.5's. My guess is some real tires will help.

Did you play with tire pressure? Next time you go set it anf try it. If it doesn't work, change ONE thing and try it. See if your ONE change makes things better or worse and then make ONE more change in the appropriate direction.

I suggest putting about 40 pounds in your fronts, about 20 pounds in the rears and starting at that point. Some folks say dropping air pressure won't works with street tires but hey, its not working now so give it a shot. It made a big difference for me a few weeks back when I was stuck driving a Lumina. I had to take those fronts down to 18 pounds to get a hook.
