Hotcam and street tires=12's?

Can a Hotcam car with bolt ons and street tires go 12's? I know with sticky tires I could go 12's with the stock cam but cutting a 2.1 60ft time isn't helping the situation. Seems at my local track 2.1 is the best I can do so with a Hotcam and that in mind will she go 12's at 3550 lbs? Other mods in sig.....

At only 101 mph I do not believe you will hit 12's. Tires first. Morwe power will make the lack of traction even worse and you will just be one more of the hundreds of guys who have too much power and too little traction. Decent tires, lose the front sway bar, get some good baseline numbers on your ride and then go for the power. Just my .02

I did last year with the swaybar attached on both ends and a 3700lb car. 60' was in the 1.90 range and mph was 108mph. I ran 2 passes on radials not drag radials either and went 12.91@108mph and 12.94@107mph. I then bolted on my ET streets and went 12.51@109mph and 12.48@109mph This was in October of 02. I will be trying some more radial passes pretty soon b/c they keep kicking me out for running 11's with no rollbar My goal is 11.90's with radials in full streettrim with Nitrous of course

Thanx guys! I was asking because I am thinking of going with the Hotcam kit and don't feel a need to run faster than 12's anytime soon (until I get a new clutch and rear). Hopefully with the longtubes, some weight reduction and Hotcam kit I will see that 12 sec slip!

Listen to TNTHUB -

Tonight I went to the track on my street tires (18 inchers) and ran a 12.78@115.4 mph.......

Nothing like a 2.4 60' to display an utter lack of traction..lol

Lightbulb

I hit a 12.90 with just the Hot Cam & Bolt ons with BFG Comp TA's. My 60' was like a 1.9ish or something like that. Infact now that I think about it my best was a 12.87 until I got the converter...
