Inform him his lid only ls1 can nearly beat a built LT1.
I'd like to see a lid only ls1 run a 12.5
Next mod should be a lid, with good filter, and long tubes. Maybe gears depending on what you have.

You can remove any doubt. My car back in the day with a lid and a loudmouth ran a best of 12.98 @ 108. Added a Yank ST3800 and tuned the shift points with a Hyperjunk and went 12.15 @ 110. 00 Formula auto trans.

wat rear gear were you running?, did that loudmouth include headers, had you had the car tuned? Ive seen alot of ls1 cars run real good, but not that good, here is an example 00z28 my friend had, M6 car w 4.10s and a tune ran 12.50s on ET streets all day.

3.23s with ET streets
Nope stock manifolds
Hyper crap for the shift points and fans only

I think Cody's car should run 13.50 as it sits with exhaust. With some basic weight reduction and a cd air kit, 13.20's should be close.
I've seen Al's car run those numbers. Cold weather probably helped him also. Not sure if he removed any weight.
I remember another local going 12.59 @ 110 with a base model Z28. 2.73 geared auto with a RAM air kit and a REMOVED exhaust from the cat back.
Mod suggestion, as always:
Sticky tires
3600 stall converter/trans-go shift kit/trans cooler
100 shot of nitrous
This would be good for 11's if you can push the gas pedal.
