Set new best...10.81 ...I'm not done yet
Well I wasn't going to post anything but decided to go ahead..at least this will track my progress. I'm not real happy with the car right now so I didn't want to boost its ego
Anyway, I have the new thunder racing/SAR2k lt4 heads and intake on the car. On the dyno the car made 452.7 rwhp and was still going up when I think I hit a computer problem and it flatlined..then started misfiring. All weekend at the thunder shootout I tried to fix it but to no avail...the car just wouldn't run out the gears. I was having to shift at 6600..when I should be in the 7200 range I beleive..and I would hit the top of 4th about the 1000 ft mark it would start stuttering and missfireing..actually pulling me forward in the seat.
Even with this I went a 10.81 at 124.8 on a 1.47 60'. Still spun some on the run. Having every car at the track with exactly the same wheelbase makes for a bad situation for us 6 speed guys because there was a bald patch on the launching pad. After looking at my time slips the car would actually mph better if I pushed in the clutch and coasted instead of trying to pull through the stutter. Best coasting mph was 126.1 and best 60' of the weekend was a 1.44. More to come...I would have come close to the lt1 NA 6 speed record if Taner hadn't reset it this weekend...
Now..to install my new toy to fix this damn problem and go see what this car can really do.

Nice times. I also run a 355. I run a hyd roller though. Stepping up the setup this winter. Getting the heads redone and a different hyd roller cam. Looking for deeper 10's then I am used to. Just wondering what kind of compression do you run.
Thanks
Ken

Tim, the combo is working and when the problems are gone it will fly
Sorry I didnt reply to your other post in the LT1 tech section thread, but yeah I was bumming hard that I couldnt be there this year
One of my best friends got married last saturday....couldnt miss that.
What is the lift on your cam? Just curious. I called Cam Motions today about a new grind. I am working on a NA 398 LT1 motor/solid roller with a sheet metal intake and LT1 ported heads. Gonna see what I can get out of this theory of mine.

kamba..running 12.6 cr..still able to race on pump gas.
Jason, amazing how with the whole year to plan something your friends always seem to plan it when you want to do something youve been waiting on for a year. We have some friends that planned their weading for the first weekend in nov. next year....in auston. We will see when the race is. My cam is 657/628 lift. When I get the rpm thing all worked out that may be changing.

Let me look into my crystal ball............ I see a drop in gear ratio with some added TNT, and what is this...... a single digit #......... kinda hard to see...... Oh it's a 9.
