SBC alt bracket relocation on a LT1
SBC alt bracket relocation on a LT1
On y'all LT1s race cars, are any of yous using a summit or like wise alternator relocation bracket for a Gen I SBC? I cant see why it wouldnt work, just trying to see if any y'all are actually using one. This is for my buddies LT1 S-10.

It will work, Neil, but you need to make sure that it will fit (not hit the frame, etc) and will work in cahoots with the serpentine drive. Are you talking about the guy with the regular cab S10 done by CXI?
Don't get me started on CXI

Yeah, hes redoing the truck, theres a lot of things that need to be adressed with it. It has the potential to be saved, but needs some work. Its a nice truck, has a lot of potential. But with CXI, who knows what they messed up on it, thats whats he trying to figure out now.

Yep, it's me. The frame is my main concern at this point. I knew that no one could answer that question. It has been notched a little, so hopefully it will have enough room. I just wanted to know if the pullies would line up, and make sure that it would bolt up. I'm pretty sure the belt would clear the water pump (one of my other concerns). I plan on taking all accesories off and holding the alternator there to see if there is enough room, and how close the pulleys are to lineing up. I'm hopeing the crank pulley is the same as a standard sbc.
jeez, some shops charge alot for these brackets considering some of them are just a plate.
