Running spacer at the rear.

I have a set of draglites 15x10, 7.5BS with 26X11.5x15 et streets. The tires are hitting the jounce bumpers on both sides big time. If I can grind the required amount I will but it does't seem doable and think I have to use spacers. Anyone running spacers in the rear drag racing? I have the longer ARP studs BTW.

No spacers are safe on the rear. Period. Remove the jounce bumpers if your having a contact problem.

ditto. I know people who have run spacers out back but its much safer to NOT run them.

Cut the bumpers off. I cut mine off with a die grinder then smoothed the rough metal with a 4" electric grinder.

I agree on the no spacer on the rear. I have 28x10 on the rear and they will rub only when going around the corners hard. Straight they are ok. I cut off my rubber bounce stops.

I use to run the car with the spacers on the rear, but after what could happed it's very important not to run the spacers. You could shear the studs.

Thanks alot guys, I've mocked the wheel/tire with a 5/16" spacer and it clears fine, so I'll hit the jounce bumper with a 4" grinder taking at most 5/16" and fixing them w/o spacers.

It's a third gen pic but should be the same idea of a fourth gen. It's also not my car but mine has been modified roughly the same. Cut off the bump stop completely and fill it back in with sheet metal. I now have MT ET Drag 29.5 x 10.5 on 10" rims and there's still some room left. It's close though at the front of the inner fenders.
