Ran at the track for the first time tonight

I ran at the track today for the first time and had a great time. I don't think I reached what my car can do since I'm so lacking in skills. I got to run 3 times with a best of 13.654@96.18mph. But like I said, I was thinking that this car could do <13.65 but maybe that's just me expecting to much. My sig hasn't been updated in a while so here is my car:

2001 a4 t-top z28
Slp lid
FTRA
Magnaflow Catback
Electric cutout
BMR stb
24mm solid rear sb
32mm hollow front sb
APE catch can
17x9 077 Eagle on all corners
kinda bald 275/40/r17 Firehawk rear tires

Traction was probably the problem, but I don't seem to remember spinning at all on this run.

Here is the run

Reaction .627
60ft 2.158
330ft 5.877
1/8 et 8.896
1/8 mph 82.25
1000ft et 11.437
1/4 et 13.654
1/4 mph 96.18

What I would do was, get to the water and warm them up to get at least some traction from balding tires, tach it up to about 1krpm and then lay into it. They hooked up pretty well and only once did I feel it slip and I ran a 13.7XX that time.

The thing that has me kinda thinking is my low mph. Don't these cars run 100+ mph in the 1/4?

Anyways, I'm just looking for some advice from people who have done this more that 3 times

Buy some new tires. Bald street tires won't hook up at all. The rubber too hard and slippery. Trying to heat up a tire in the water box that's designed not to heat up only wears more rubber off the tire.

that low of mph i bet is the problem. your '60 isn't bad at all for balding street tires. I trap almost 100mph with an A4 LT1.

I don't have the slip from my last run, but my friend recorded the run on his camera. But it didn't seem like he zoomed in on time because the time and mph cleared before he could focus on it. We blew up the video and cleaned it up a bit and found that my last run of the night was a 13.7 at 105mph.

I'm gona get some new drag radials soon so hopefully I'll have better luck.
