none of the tracks I have been to have ever checked under my hood......I dont even have a battery hold down, cause I am using a smaller battery. As for the light, it obviously won't matter during daylight, but from my experiences it shouldnt matter at night either as long as you have em on. You should just run to AutoZone really quick and pick up a new one though, really easy to install, shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes. Good luck at the track!
