Smile Please tell me what you think.

This is how it went

R/T... .345
60'.... 2.146
330... 6.223
1/8th. 9.556
MPH... 72.99

What would my 1/4th mile time

I am running crappy enzo all-season tires. I only gave it about 1/2 throttle starting out(afraid of spinning around and hitting wall...this was my first real time). I did not even worm up the tires and let of throttle a split secon before the end.

What do you think it would take for me to get into the 8.8 range...I only have exhaust work done.

I was running 8.60's in the 1/8 with headers, cold air, and drag radials. Probably a good tuneup and similiar mods, if you have a standard... Maybe a moderate converter if an automatic....

A 14.8@93 sounds about right to you? It might be normal if he's racing in Denver, CO.

Re: Please tell me what you think.

I think this weekends run was more me then the car. I did not launch right at all...I did not stall the motor at all only half throttle starting out...Plus I had way to much tire pressure. I usually run with about 28 pounds in the back. That way I can floor it from the beginnig on not spin.

Re: Please tell me what you think.

If a stock A4 is redlining, most likely the tranny is slipping... If that is true, you should fix it because tranny problems tend to become worse with use.

What is supose to be the exact shiftpoint for the A4...I shifts at 5600rpms as soon as it touches the red it shifts...my friends 95 Z on the other hand shifts as soon as it hits the yello at round 5000rpms.

Re: Please tell me what you think.

It should shift when it touches the red. My TransAm with mods in sig. ran 8.8's all night with not so great launch everytime. My MPH was 83-85. All runs were NA. I figure with better tires and sub 2.0 60ft I could get down to 8.60 easy. I used to have an auto car with less mods that ran 8.60's all night with 1.8 60's on street tires. My method was to just break stall till the last yellow then 1/2-3/4 pedal till I felt it grab then floor it. I have yet to find a happy technique for the 6 speed. I think a better clutch and drag radials are due.

yeah..I am thinking of buying some drag radials...I am running extremo's....it's what came with the car....I figure..If I drop my back tire preassure down to 28 instead of 39-40 like it was and launch from about 1,000 rpms I should have pretty good runs....I just have to get use to this motor.

Hypertech's manual for their LT1 programmer lists the stock shift point for each gear (in RPM). I'm on business travel and don't have my manual available, but you could call their tech department. Also, with the programmers, or custom PCM programming you can move up, or down each gear's shift point.

With the mods I currently have (cam, gears, stall, Etc.), I'm using PCMforLess programming.
