Unhappy Please help! Take a look at my et/mph.

First off, I am a crappy driver. What I need to know is my car slow or am I just that bad of a driver. The timeslip below reflects my best ever run. I live in NE Ohio. The elevation is low and the weather was 50 degrees and dry. I have Nittos and a 94 M6. I've seen other guys run much better with similar 60's and MPH. Also, for my mods, my MPH seems low?

60-------------2.096
330---------- 5.825
1/8------------8.952
1/8MPH------79.64
1000'ET------11.600
1/4Et---------13.858
1/4MPH-------102.07

What are you luanching at? 4.10's/M6/Nittos can GO!
What RPMs are you shifting at...are you SURE (is the Tach correct)?
How do you shift......."power shifting" REALLY helps or VERY QUICK shifts!!!

I went from a A4 Z28 to this M6..and it is really ALL about the shifting (traction too...but DR's) I shift at 5700-5900 in mine (as I was told by a few other people) and I am sure its off a little bit as they all are.
My first time at the track... about a month of driving my first 6 speed ever, I ran a 14.1 @ 98, shifting like my grandmother
3 weeks later I pulled the 13.6 @ 102..same mods and all...only thing I did was learn how to drive it a little better
I KNOW my car has a 13.4 in it right now...I just don't think I do yet!!!

Wheres Avon Lake and what track did you run that at? I'd say you should run atleast a mid 13 with those mods unless you raced at Quaker City Raceway

It looks like your 60 ft could be better since your running 4.10's. You'll get better with seat time. My first runs with my 2000 SS 6 banger were right around where you ran and I got it down to 13.17 eventually. 6 speeds are fun but tough to be consistent. If your motor is stock except for exhaust mods your doing alright.

My best is bellow with the mods. I had a 01 Cobra vert before this LS1 and the Cobra was very tricky to drive down the 1/4 so it helped me with my driving. The LS1 is all POWER!

Like they said above, seat time will lower your e.t. And your 60' seems high for Nittos and 4.10's

Work that clutch baby!

Hey Grease! It was your response to one of my posts some months back that made me go with 4.10's. Avon Lake is on Lake Erie shore, about 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland. I usually run at Norwalk, but this run was at Dragway 42. Also, this is my first run with 4.10.

I have been shifting at 5800rpm, however the car doesn't feel like its pulling after shifting into fourth. I think I'm going to try shifting a bit sooner, say 5500rpm, in order to spend more time in the powerband. Does this sound logical, or am I being ridiculous?

I thought Lake Avon sounded familiar

You'd be surprised how much time you can pick up shifting sooner than 5800, especially with the stock cam. I was shifting at 6200rpm with a ZZ-409 cam but pick up 2 tenths by shifting at 5600rpm. I later on learned, when I had my car dynoed that peak HP for me was at 5500rpm, by 6200rpm it had come way down.
