Pinnion angle

Is the importance just in the way the car launches, I never checked mine after I did the track link, same adjustment as the car it came off of, on a bolt on car with a 150 shot, how big of a factor will it play?

What's a track link, is it a torque arm, control arm? Is it adjustable? I need some more info before I tell you how much I can't help you.

Pinion angle in itself has nothing to do with the way the car launches.

I may be wrong but if a lowered car or (any other car for that matter) has a positive 2 degree pinion angle and by changing to a negative 2 degrees can plant the tires better you might not be correct. Then again maybe this only works on my car?

anything is possible i guess... but i dont see how.

the only way to change how the car hooks up is by adjusting the front torque arm mount location, or the lower control arm positions. this is not including the front suspension adjustments, of course.....

anyways, the whole purpose for running -2 degrees of pinion angle is so that when your under full accelleration, all the deflection in the suspension components and bushings will bring the pinion up to zero pinion angle. this will produce the least amount of drag.

I think that running more negative pinion angle moves your instant center and this increases the amount of weight shift at launch. I ran mine at -4 when racing and around 0 to -1 when not racing. Do a little research on instant center.

From: NY...what a bad place for a nice car
pinion angle will help control some wheel hop when launching

sor far most ppl say that:

auto -2 degrees is good
manual -3 is good

i can c if ur angle is off by alot , u may eat through alot of pinion seals
