Pinion angle question

Any ideas on how much negative pinion angle I can use and not put to much strain on the u-joints? The car see about 600 miles a year lately. I'm at -1 right now and would like to bump it up to -3. Any thoughts?

-3 would be good. -5 for a strip only car.

I would not go more than -3. The idea of negative pinion angle is to set enough static load to put the pinion in line with the drive shaft under load. With a bushed suspension -2 to -2 should be fine.
