Panhard rod in a drag car suspension

im in the process of installing rear control arms and am wondering if anybody has any thoughts on the panhard rod. Does it serve any purpose in a drag car suspension (as in changing to a stronger one) And will deflection of the stock one cause any adverse effects on 60 ft times. Thanks Prorac1

Theoretically for drag racing you only need something to keep the diff centered. Since there's no real side forces on the diff, a stock panhard bar should do fine. I have a Herb Adams adjustable bar on mine and I have the upper support brace removed.
