Flow number will not tell the whole story. Flow number are relative to what RPM range the motor will operate in, what cam is selected, CI and other items.

If you are looking for an opinion on what can be achieved the your numbers are OK.

I was just asking to be curious, since everybodys been talking about how good Lloyd Ellioits heads are and mine beat his by some 30 cfm on the exh and there four years old. As for my setup, I'll be running my 355, the same one that I ran the times in my sig and I just found out that I ran those times with a slightly bent valve and several badly worn valve guides.

Providing you have a camshaft that supports those lift numbers, the heads have potential to support around 550hp. That's also assuming those flow numbers are at 28" of water.

If those are LT1 castings, those exhaust numbers look bogus. How were the heads flowed? With a pipe? What flow bench? The intake numbers look pretty decent, but as already stated flow numbers don't tell the whole story.

Randy, what heads do you have (LT1, LT4) and who ported them?

Hi Mark, how are you doing? I hope you had a good holiday.

The heads are LT1's, the same heads I've had for almost four years. I just had them flowed and seviced by charles at Headsup performance, and they were flowed at 28'' of water, the port work was done by Bob and myself.

Those are the best exhaust flow numbers I can recall seeing for an LTx casting. Are you sure they are accurate?

Well I can't be 100% sure, but that is what the floe sheet read, and I trust the man who flowed them. It will all come out in the wash. When I get my new cam in and it's a dog we'll know the numbers are bogus, but if it flys we know there right.

I just got off the phone with the guy who flowed my heads, and he said that he flowed the exh with a pipe. He said just to just reduce the flow numbers by 10-12 cfm on the exh and that would be what they would be without the pipe.

Still very good, but makes more sense now. Thanks.

Linda and I had a great holiday! Thanks for asking

Those are some great flow numbers, especially assuming you guys did the porting by the guess-as-you-go method (unless Bob has a flow bench hiding in the corner somewhere that he's not telling anyone about )

It will be interesting to see how it runs this year!

Thos flow really well, since the exhaust flows so well I wonder if a single pattern cam would work with those?
