Nitto's vs. ET streets, results!

I normally just run my Nitto DR's 275/40/17, but the track was bad and I wanted 10's didn't happen.

A friend let me use his ET streets 26x11.50/16.

results with 150 shot:

Nitto's
1.944 8.064 88.75 12.542 110.01 1 2017
1.871 7.955 89.10 12.418 110.29 2 2025
1.946 7.626 97.57 11.618 122.88 3 2041
1.792 7.400 98.00 11.385 124.33 4 2058
2.074 8.307 88.07 12.796 109.73 5 2149
1.898 7.612 97.62 11.605 124.33 6 2200
2.097 8.270 88.52 12.760 109.73 7 2244
1.892 7.498 98.21 11.478 124.25 8 2252

Got talked into using ET streets, 150 out of the whole!!!
1.879 7.972 88.96 12.451 109.53 9 2322
1.764 7.884 88.43 12.380 109.12 10 2329
1.764 7.241 98.29 11.219 123.90 11 2335
1.676 7.115 98.25 11.085 124.28 12 2343
1.664 7.098 98.24 11.085 123.05 13 2349

How old are those nitto's. Your 60', et and mph are all over the place.

Consistancy with the ET streets sure came around.

The Nitto's are few months old, I might have to get a pair of ET streets

I really wanted to get in the 10's on Nitto's though

OK, I should have asked how old/mileage are on the Nitto's. Even though they may have lots of rubber left, a lot of street driving can easily dry out a tire like that. Once the oils in the rubber are dried out, they won't hook up any more even though they look fine.

the difference is in the sidewall height and construction. on the nitto 17" you only have about 1 1/2" height. on the e.t. streets 16"you have about 2 1/2" height. so that gives the tire a chance to absorb the shock of launching. alos, the e.t. street is basically a slick design. so the sidewall can wrinkle.

Looks like you were running out of N2o on the last pass. Try a full bottle and et streets with a little better weather and 10's could happen. Looks like me and you on the same track. 10's or bust

Unhappy

Thanks.

Well I tried a Full bottle the next night ended up melting all 4 plugs on the drivers side and it's now making a ticking sound, maybe a bent valve

Nitto's
2.350 8.833 87.35 13.361 108.99
2.185 8.576 87.91 13.078 109.74
2.143 8.286 89.15 12.753 110.29

ET streets
1.727 7.802 88.97 12.260 109.66
1.624 7.063 98.51 11.136 117.14 lost power around the 1/8

Might have been a 10, who knows

The Nitto's have about 1,500 miles not counting the smokey burnouts.

I also don't know how bad the plugs were making these runs, the Saturday before I made some 100 shot runs.
