New track times...need launching tips for M6

Here are the new track times I ran after the Hotcam kit install. I am very satisfied, but my 60 foot times are holding me back.

First run: 13.4 @ 107.1 with a 2.2 60 foot time
Second run: 13.2 @ 107.51 with a 2.15 60 foot time

Any tips for launching a manual tranny??? I can't seem to get this down, even with a completely redone suspension and Nitto drag radials and 3.73's. How do you guys that pull the great 60 foot times launch your cars???

I know I could probably hit a 12.80-12.90 with a good launch and I have seen many do it on the Nittos.

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks

12psi in them, and get them hot. Then when you think they are hot, keep heating them, then heat them some more.

Proceed to line and drop at 5k. Hold on

After you give them a really good heat the first time, future runs shouldnt need the abusive treatment. You cant even see my car with all the smoke when i run DRs.

oh ya, practice helps a TON too.

I slip the clutch from about 3000rpm. Even with my BFG drag radials nice and hot, I'll spin if I dump the clutch from 5000rpm, either that or break the rear end. I usually get mid 1.8 60fts

yeah i cant hook up either...but im about to buy some drag radials...should i get nitto 555r's or BFG drag radials ...the nittos are 245/50/r16's and the bfg's are alittle wider, 255/50/r16's...which will grip better?

i usually feather it off the line at about 3k then press hard, and i get GOOD 60's out of doing that.

with nittos and when the car had only bolt ons, i used to launch about 3500 at a track with good prep and release clutch as quickly as possible without sidestepping it. also about 17-18 psi. and do a lengthy burnout, like was mentioned above.. just when you think they are hot enough keep going

g'luck, back then i ran 12.7 @ 110mph

Good track prep...now that is a joke around here. I am told that if you can get your car to hookup at Scribner, NE, you can get your car to hookup anywhere!!!
