Talking New best in my '02 Z28!

I love my car. It runs like a raped ape! First off, I should say that it is a stripped down car. Only options are GS-C tires and rear defrost. Has manual windows and everything. This time was run full weight w/ 1/4 tank of gas. Spare tire and jack still in the car. All my mods are in my sig.

My new best time:

60 ft: 1.885
1/8: 8.148
1/8 mph: 88.668
1/4: 12.561
1/4 mph: 112.089

I wasn't able to back it up though. My next best was a 12.600 @ 111.871 on a 1.943 60 ft. I also got a new personal best mph of 112.844 on one tire spinning run. Weather was about 70 - 75 degrees with low humidity. The track I ran at (Ubly Dragway) is at approx. 600 ft above sea level.

That's some great runs (stock & mod'd). I'm definitely going to have to try Ubly soon (Milan sucks for traction; it's where I've been going ). What RPM where you launching at? Those DR's add a lot (I'm going to have to try some out).

Unbelievably enough, that was a 4500 rpm clutch drop. That run was 6 or so into the day (18 runs total ) Car hooked, clutch slipped a little so it didn't fall on its face quite as bad as it did on the other runs and off I went. The ironic part is I checked my tire pressure a couple of runs later and it was at 30 psi! I had forgot to lower them. I ran the 112.8 mph trap after I took the spare tire out. Once the spare was gone and the gas started to dwindle, the car wouldn't hook any more but it pulled some great mph.

No. Not on GS-C's. Look in my sig, Denny. It says BFG DR's! I ran a 12.82 @111 on the GS-C's @ Milan.

Awesome times Scott. That car is definitely a Wednesday build.

As far as I know, the 12.60 backs up the 12.56. It's not like the 56 was a timing fluke or anything.

BTW Don't wanna alarm you, but you appeared to be 1-wheeling it in the burnout box on one of your later runs(I was staging behind you). It's prolly nothing more than not enough water being down, but might be something you want to keep an eye on. I know Bishop's diff went out at like 4000 miles.

Damm Scott, the more you beat on that car, the faster it goes! I suspect the mph in right lane at Ubly is off. It showed a 116.389 for my 12.000 run to 115.48 for an 11.987 run in the left lane. I've run NMCA EFI 12.0 class at several different tracks, and rarely get above 115.2 mph.

It wouldn't suprise me if I had a problem with the posi. It was feeling wierd on my burnouts later in the day. That would help explain why my 60 ft times went away as the day wore on.

I just went back and checked my timeslips. I actually had made 19 runs! 11 of them were in the left lane, including the 12.56 run. The 112.844 was in the right lane but I actually pulled a 112.40 in the left lane so overall the 2 lanes looked fairly consistent.
