new 1/8 mile track times

i went to Orlando speed world tonight expecting to get my first quarter mile runs with the nitrous. well it rained a little before i got there and they would only let us run the 1/8. so i figured i would not spray because there is no point. so n/a with only a k&n cold air and a bald tire on the driver side i pull a 2.2 60ft and a 9.12@80.43. i wish i could have gone the whole 1/4 mile because that is my best run yet. on a 2.4 60 ft and 9.38@79.57 i went 14.2 @101. what do you guys think that run would have been?

Well, I ran 13.85 @ 100.65 on a 2.17 60' I have a 1994 Camaro Z28 M6, so it is a little tricky to launch, but I just need more practice. Unfortunately I blew my posi at the strip at the end of August on my drag radials. I ran 8.973 in the 1/8 @ 80.32 on that pass, you should be somewhere in the high 13s with a 2.1XX 60' and that MPH I would think. So I think next year with the tires, and more practice launching I should be able to pull a 13.60 - 13.70 pass or so if I can get my 60' down. If you can get that 60' down considerably I think you could go mid 13s with that MPH.

I tried on street tires, couldn't hook at all (a lot worse than you are doing) I still can't hook up how I want to on my drag radials, I just need more experience/practice and some suspension work. Also it doesn't help that the track I go to is pretty much ice, but I have seen some good 60' times there. I have a CAI, headers, 52 mm throttle body, and recently had a tune up. I think the car is capable of a lot faster times, but my driving is the problem and I know it. I got the car in mid-june. Next year I will log more hours at the track and more practice in general and hopefully be able to become a much better driver. The car only has 14,800 miles!

You must have some real good top end power. It's hard to say what you "would have run. You previous run of 9.38 got you a 14.2 1/4 pass. That's higher than expected from the 1/8 time. A 9.12 should only get you a 14.22 so either you have a lot of top end power or your 1/8 mile is much slower than it should be to do a proper calculation.
