Need help w/ 60ft times- launching M6

My best time at MMP last night was 13.6 @ 104 w 2.2 60. I bogged the engine on takeoff every time. I tried slipping the clutch @ 2500 but I always let off it too fast and it bogged. Once I dropped it at 3K and it spun for a sec then took off but with the same 2.2 60ft. Any tips on launching a stick?? I have Fuzions ZRi 2455016 tires and a centerforce clutch. I dropped the pressure to 22-25 psi hot.

On my 93 T/A A4 (Lts, TDs, CAI, MSD ign, LCAs,) I cut a 2.0 60ft and ran 13.5 @ 102.

Is a faster 60ft possible with street tires and a M6?

A better 60' is definitely possible. I just cut a 1.99 60' in my LS1 M6 last weekend on fairly worn street tires. You should be able to see a 2.0 with a good launch.

I was slipping the clutch and easing onto the gas on that pass to avoid bogging or spinning, the key is finding the happy medium. It can take some work to find that spot though, that was the fourth time I had my LS1 at the track and I just got the launch dialed in.

Keep working at it and you should be able to see a 13.4 or 13.3 with a 2.0 60'

Also, I noticed when my dad was driving it was blowing out a puff of grey smoke in between powershifts. Does this mean the car is running too rich?

I was slipping clutch from about 2400 on stock motor & street tires for best of 2.0 60', while gradually rolling into the throttle once the clutch started to grab. But, I was not able to do 2.0 consistantly. Just a few times 'in the groove'. Ran out of clutch before I got the technique down.

After about my 50th run the 80k mile clutch was pretty used up. Only good for one launch, then would slip pretty badly unless cooled for an hour or more. Still worked fine on the street, but switching to Centerforce DF now.

For starters, try running around ~35 psi in the tires ... trust me!!! Street tires do not act the same as (racing) slicks. Even if you disagree, START with ~35 - 36 psi, and let air out if you try it and it just doesn't work. Some of my best 60' times ever (consistant 1.9's) have been on street tires inflated to 35 psi .

BTDT, it works, you just have to experiment to see what the tire likes.

The smoke in between shifts isn't good. You need to address that problem. As far as launching a 6 speed this is my technique. You being on street tires want to avoid the water box and only do a quick "clean the tires off" burnout. Then I would rev the car up to 1700-1900 rpms and almost dump the clutch. From there I go half way wot and a second later full wot. I have found this way to have the least spinning and bogging. The car will hook and then spin a tiny bit but would net me 2.00-2.15 60fts. On nearly bald yoko avs es 100's, so i was happy with my results.

The smoke between shifts is just unburnt fuel, typical when letting off the throttle fast.
