Is my car slow?

My car has mods in the sig.

This was my first time to track ever. My rear tires are bald as well, okay enough excuses.

First run
60' 2.495
1/8 10.17 @ 74.20
1/4 15.36 @ 95.98

Second run
60' 2.481
1/8 9.756 @ 76.68
1/4 14.86 @ 97.10

Third run
60' 2.304
1/8 9.482 @ 76.62
1/4 14.58 @ 96.97

Elevation is 1100 ft and it was about 80 degrees slightly humid.

Re: Is my car slow?

how do you get your 60 ft. times so low? is it the bald tires? .. car isnt slow, the 60s are terrible and the mph is where it should be.

Re: Is my car slow?

Put a better tire on it and take it back out.

As in DR's? Are bald street tires worse then if they had tread on them?

Re: Is my car slow?

of course bald tires are a LOT worse than tires with tread. Get some drag radials in the rear and you'll hit 2.0 60' easily. Then you'd be at a 14.0 or 14.1 right where you should be...

your engine also has 125k on it so its probably loosing alittle horsepower at that so overall i think those are good times

Re: Is my car slow?

get the drag radials, the best your gonna get out of a 3.42-3.23 with a 6 speed NA stock motor is a 2.0 60'. when my car had the original goodyears on it i think i went a 9.20@78 or 79 1/8 with a 2.20 60'. the car was bone stock with 51K miles on it. i put the cai, exhaust, tuning and nittos and a best of 8.61@84 with a 2.08 60'. that was slidin the stock clutch. traction was marginal at best. that was when it was 40* outside though.

track prep and tire are the key. i normally run at a track that the prep sucks, last night i ran my best 60' ever without even doing a burnout at a track that has good prep. so i cant wait til it gets cold again so i can go back and maybe score some high 8.40s and get the car back to running 83-84mph with a tuneup and cold air.

Re: Is my car slow?

I forgot to drop some rear tire pressure as well..

How about removing the front swaybar?

That will help by letting the weight transfer to the rear better.
