How to launch a m6
How to launch a m6
I have a 00 ss with most all the bolt on stuff,but i cant hook up out back! Is there a ideal rpm range to drop the clutch? 2nd gear? my car has zr1 17inch rims does + or - wheel spin? thanks for any info
Re: How to launch a m6
on radials your gonna have to learn the fine art of sliding the clutch. it just takes practice. and there is no ideal rpm, every track surface is going to be different and have a sweet spot.
Re: How to launch a m6
i fight my local track every time i run man getting the perfect launch in a M6 on street tires is a PITA really its all practice practice practice no one is perfect the 1st time hell some people still are not perfect the 10th time i get mine to like 2k and dump the clutch and let off the gas untill it stopps spinning thats just me some people can actually slip the clutch and man it out of the hold barely spinning im not that good YET...... good luck next time out man
Re: How to launch a m6
thanks--yea some guys can slip their clutch pretty good! but thats what smoked mine @ 36k! the flywheel was blued and pitted pretty bad and i damn sure dont want to tare the tranny out again! whats the cheapest drag slick to buy ? how small of rim will fit around my rear brakes 15in?16?
Re: How to launch a m6
I asked the same Q a while ago. It's not a clutch DUMP persay, but a controled slip/rapid engaugement.... -if that makes sence...
I've been playing w/ my M6 from stop lights and stop signs. Just to get the hang of it. I'll hold it at about 2300RPM, slightly slipping the clutch to hold her in place. When it goes green I let the clutch up a little quick and add some throttle to keep it form bogging. -Not slipping the h3ll out of it, but she grabs. (I've got a new McLeod clutch at home, mind as well finish this one off...
)
Play w/ it. You'll get it... It's hard to explain, but once you get it you'll understand what we mean. and yeah, w/ radials, you can bring the R's up more. I kinda baby mine anyway...
