my '96 at Speedworld
Phoenix alt. is about 1300 ft. The reason I picked that day to race was the weather was about perfect, 70 during daytime and 60-65 once the sun went down. Except for monsoon season there is not much humidity to speak of, maybe 15 %
Your trap speed is what stock LT1s will run.
The idea with mufflers.....go for a straight through preforated core muffler....like a Dynomax Ultraflo. I believe all of the Flowmasters are a chambered muffler. Not good for flow....you should be able to SEE through your muffler.
To get the best launch you should try and get the tires to HOOK at peak torque. This typically means wheel spin......a SLIGHT amount.....but, just enough to get them to bite at beak torque. This can be tricky to do, as track conditions vary a lot.

Next time I race it will be foot to the floor as quick as possible and then access my traction situation. I'm pretty sure I over corrected for a traction loss. Big dummy. 93mustank have you ever heard of the timing equipment being incorrect at Speedworld ? Couple of years ago, under good weather conditions this car ran a 13.10 @ 101 mph. Feels stronger now with the rebuilt LT 1. Car had the Flowmaster aftercat at that time too.
