2nd time at the track with new heads, cam..

Well this is the 2nd time back to the track with my new heads and cam. Previously when 13.50@106.88 with OBDII Madz28 tune, 3:73's, DR's at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Soo install new 58mm TB, 4:10's, switched to OBDI with tuner cats and my own tuning.

Went down to Speedworld in Phoenix. Only got 1 good run in for the night out of 3, it was busy with alot of street cars. I got up after some good track prep and went
12.78@111 w/2.04 60"
Spun out of the hole, i back pedaled and she stuck. I was pretty happy. Just need to work on my 60" times. It was pretty hot out too. 90ish

What do you guys think.

It was a nice improvement. OBDII tune was really rich. I didn't have a change to datalog while i was at the track either. Forgot to bring the laptop. Soo i'm going back in a few weeks. Hopefully get the 60" down to 1.9 or maybe even 1.8 would be nice. I'd like to see 12.40 or 12.50's out of her. Then i will be happy for now. .lol

yeah I think your right, get your 60's down .2 and cooler air (shoot, even 75deg. would have a sig. effect on your times) and you'll be running 12.4-12.5's. fun as those sticks are on the road, the're pretty tricky to get the best times from the track. what kinda tires you got? also, you'll find that a little tire slip is faster down the track then a bog by too low rpm's for your launch. but thats the tricky part is finding that happy medium between bog and too much tire spin.

did you get flow sheets for your heads>? I home ported my heads and got flow sheetsjust cause I wanted to know.

I'm planning on going back in a month or soo when i get back from vaction.
I've got Nitto 555R's 315/35/17. I was borrowing them from a friend. I'm not sure what i wanna buy yet. 15x8 prostar with something on it. Next time i go back i plan on playin with the launch alot more. I only got 3 runs in. It was really busy that night. Like you said, just gotta find that happy medium.

As for the heads. I did not have them flowed after i ported them. Kicking myself in the but for not doing it. I would really like to know now.
