Motor plate mid plate?

I'm converting to a motor plate, mid plate setup.
I went with madman's front plate, as far as the mid plate I'm trying to decide which one? How did you guys install it?Any tricks?
Any pics? Any help would be great.

Thanks,Kevin

I have a motor plate but no mid plate. I installed an engine limiter rod that attached to the drivers side motor mount and tied to a piece of steel angle welded to the frame.

Ive seen midplates though and it looks to me like you could bolt the midplate in with the engine and trans and then set it in the car. Then, weld some brackets to your firewall to hold the plate in place.

Perhaps someone else will chime in here with some better advice.

good luck!

I'm with Guido. Front plate only with limiter. I wouldn't even consider a mid plate in a full body car without having some sort of removable floor to be able to get at it.

I should take a picture of my limiter. I have a 3/8" tube with nuts welded on both ends. 3/8" Heim joints are threaded into both nuts. One end is attached to a motor mount hole on the drivers side of the block. The other end attaches to the underside of the frame under the steering box. There just happened to be a threaded hole there that I could use and it worked out perfect.

You need the limiter to keep the engine from going forward and backward. Motor plates will flex too much. You risk breaking the tailshaft on the tranny without one even if a poly or solid tranny mount is used.

You really should take a picture I'd like to see your setup. I don't have anything right now, but I'll be making a motor plate this spring, and I'd like to see how your limiter is set up.
