Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials
Re: Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials
I am trying to fiqure out if I can make the 325/50/15 fit under my car without too much beating. I think I will order aset and just make them work. There is a guy over on lS1tech that put some 28x10.5W's on a 02 Transam so I am sure I couyld make these fit. I will post some pics once I get started. What kind of rear are you running and what gear 1 BADSS?

Wow. I'm just re-reading this thread to make sure I'm not missing something. Currently, I participate in bracket races every weekend, and I carry my real slicks in my car and bolt them on when I get to the track. If I'm reading this right, you guys are saying that these radials will hook as good or nearly as good as real slicks and I can drive short distances on them, like to/from the track (35 mins). That would be awesome if I didn't have to change tires at the track every time. I'm due for some new slicks, but now I'm thinking I might want to go this way. Do you guys foresee me having any problems hooking? I run 1.71 60' 12.6 in the 1/4. The tracks I run at are prepped very well, too.

I don't daily drive my car but I do make 150 mile round trips to the track. You will have no problem cutting a 1.7 60' with these. Tire wear is a lot better than I expected.
Re: Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials
Cool. The main track I run at is only 35 miles one way, and I very rarely drive this car anywhere else, so this should be perfect for me. Thanks for the help.

I run 4.10's in a Moser 12-bolt. I am contemplating stepping down to 3.73's for the quarter. I used to run a 315/35/17 street tire on an 11 inch rim. Let me know how and if you get the 325's to work on your car.
Thanks,
Craig

Re: Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials
yeah yeah... but my cars stock pretty much... slp intake and an open exhaust... im sure i'll hook just swell...
but i still can't believe treaded radials out perform et streets.... i mean not saying i DON'T believe you guys... its just astonishing to me
btw: say i powerbrake it up to 1500... then just flat out floor it... and hook beautifully what kind of 60' should my car get stock?

Long answer: You'll want to experiment with different launch RPM's. Those ET Streets work fine, I have a set that I run when when Super Chevy comes to town, and they hook fine even late in the day when all the real street tires have torn the track up.

im heading out to the track in about 2 hours, and I will be trying out my Et Street Radials also. They are 255/50/16, what should I air them at? 12psi? I know that you gain 4psi after the burnout...

1.9-2.0??? for my ws6? that doesn't sound good i can get a 2.0-2.1 60' on crappy street tires... and because of my stock stall i can only brake it up to 1500 or i start burning out
