How do you perform a burnout?

I own a 02' Z28, but have never performed a burnout. Is it possible doing that with an automatic vehicle, and this model car?

Uh, see the long skinny pedal on the right? Step on it and try to keep the car straight!

I assume you mean at the track so you have a choice of things. If you are on street tires, avoid the water box. Pull around it, make sure the car is straight and the tires. Street tires also don't benefit from long burnouts so I would avoid the crowd pleaser. You can either hold the brake and ease on the gas until your tires spin or just floor it and stop before you get to the staging lights. I prefer that way because it is easier on your brakes but either way will work.
