Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mach I is 305hp, right? I really dont' see that running MM&FF's 13 flat. Motor trend clocked it at 13.8. Sure, maybe their off, but not that much. Looking at the numbers and times I've seen, I'd say the Mach and an LS1 are very, very even. I've never heard of a stock LS1 running better then mid 13's, so unless the mustang weighs alot less, I doubt it could run 13 flat.

The same driver that got a 13 flat out of the mach 1 got a 12.8 out of the ls1, both cars being stock and driven by the mad shifter Evan Smith.

These are definately not the norms for Mach 1s and LS1s though.

Some people have hit 12's with these cars with sticky tires. They make a nice match up with LS1's.

Regular GTs are SOHC, while the Mach 1s are DOHC.

Isn't the Mach 1 DOHC 4.6 the same engine that was used on previous Cobras?

Not exactly. Its big differences from previous DOHC Cobra motors is intake and cams. Their was a good thread on ls1.com one time about the differences between the Mach 1 engine and 99/01 Cobra engine. It told about all the differences but I can't remember them.
