Looking to drop 1/4 time. Help.

OK, I have a 95 z28 A4 with exhaust and cold air intake. I ran a disappointing 14.3 at the track . I've been looking at different mods to lower my time like 3.73 gears or pullies, but It seems that gears really wouldn't be worth it on my setup. I'm only looking to spend about $300, so what would be the best bang for the buck (besides Nitrous)? I have moderate automotive knowledge.

Drag radials, maybe some suspension parts (RLB, LCA), or maybe save a little more and get headers. What was you 60' on that run as well as the trap.

60' - 2.420, 1/8 - 9.443, mph - 98.97. Not sure what the trap is. Thanks for the help.

Your sixty foot time is really up there. I would agree with the other guy, use the three hundred dollar budget to get a good pair of drag radials, practice launching your car, and you should be in the 13s.

Your 60' is the problem. Bad 60'= crappy 1/4
If I were you I would get relocation brackets, box of the lower control arms/panhard rod, and get poly bushings pressed in. Then try to get a set of M/T et drag radials on the board used or save up and by new. That will but you in the high 13's right there. You have to be able to put the power to the ground (traction) in order to run a good 1/4. Power adding mods or 3.73 gears will only make your situation worse. Get the traction issuse/launch technique down FIRST then go from there, otherwise you will always be dissapointed.

Trap is short for trap speed, so your trap speed is 98.97mph in the 1/4. I guessing you trapped ~79mph in the 1/8. And another thing 3.73 would be a nice improvement if you can get traction. What gears do you have now?

The only thing you'll be able to pick up at that budget is a set of drag radials. Might dip ya into the 13's.

Thanks for the help guys! I was looking to weld up my own relocation brackets if I could find the right demensions. I have the car lowered now, so I have no choice but to get some or make some. Does anyone know how I would be able to find the demensions? Also, would it help any if I would weld in a solid steel rod in the u channel of the stock LCA? Thanks!

Lca bolt ons are cheap..I got bmr ones.Your launch will be crap without them.
Then like everyone said some drag radials or et streets. That should get you a 2.1 or 2.0.If you have 2.73 they are not great either of course but you do hear different things on what gears actually do.
Another cheap mod is a cutout might still give you a tenth or two.
And best bank for the buck for autos is a good stall.I bought a great vig 2800 off the board.
That can give you three to maybe 5 tenths.I have buddy running 13.8 at 1900 feet altitude in his 94z.All he has is flowmaster,no cutout, high flo cat,air induction, underdrive pulley, borla ypipe and thats about it.3.23 gears ,no stall,no other power mods. That 13.8 is about a 13.5 at sea level. He does have et street radials though. His 60 ft is around 2.1 to 2.0.Not enough power and no stall to go much better in the 60ft.Bone stock suspension.
