line lock ?

Line lock solenoid is installed with a continuous switch correct? Not a momentary contact? 99.9% sure but just wanted to make 100%.

Other sorta related, the rear brake line, what size is it, I need to reflare it to go into the prop valve, but dont know the size?

You can wire it with either switch. I use a momentary switch mounted on the shifter. My brother uses a continous switch mounted on his dash. It's all up to driver preferance.

Sorry, don't know the rear line size.

Before you make a final decision on the type of switch to install, you may wish to consult the 2004 NHRA Rule Book, page 201, section 3:1, last sentence. "All line-locs (electric or hydraulic) must be self-returning to normal brake operating mode." If the particular "continuous" switch you are considering does not meet the specifications of that rule, there is always the possibility that a well-informed and sharp-eyed tech inspector will refuse to approve the system. You may be able to slip by for months or years without any questions but then, when you least expect it, problems could arise.

Good luck.

If for some reason your latched switch is accidentally engaged, it could cause your brakes to lock up when you hit them at the finish line. That probably wouldn't be too good!

Take Care,

Daren

I have the Hurst unit and I'm using a toggle switch w/ indicator light (red) so I know when the line lock is turned on. I activate the line lock w/ the toggle switch (continuous), depress the brakes, and hold down a push-button switch (momentary, and located away from the toggle switch) which releases my back brakes and holds the front brakes. Even if I leave the toggle switch in the "ON" position as verified by the indicator light, I can use the brakes as long as I don't use the push-button switch. This essentially follows the recommendations from Hurst. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, I went ahead and wired in just a toggle with indicator today, Ill take my chances with the lazy TECH at my track, if no luck wont take long to wire a new switch in.

Brakes are all hooked up and looking good so far, just need to convert from the 3/16 american line im using to the metric that the caliper soft line requires.
