License forms IHRA question
License forms IHRA question
Does your track require you to have license at 10.99 and quicker?
Mine is expired, I need to figure out what lic. I need to get....this track is requiring an IHRA lic. for anything faster than 10.99 this year
Also whats the deal with the IHRA insurance?
I would ask on the track forum but I can't get signed on....

To the best of my knowledge, both NHRA and IHRA tracks "only" require an "Advanced ET License" starting at 9.99 and below (faster). Therefore, as-long-as you're running 10.00, or slower, you're good to go and don't require a license! Check-out the attached NHRA link.

I enjoy the NHRA group of racers I compete with. Everyone has their $hit together (experienced/safe) and are professional.

At national and divisional races it's probably mandatory. Our track runs under IHRA rules. Last year I was running mid to high 9's with nothing more than a valid government issued driver's license. I don't think they really enforce it during local bracket events until you get into the 8's where a lot of other rules start to change. I had an IHRA D license a few years ago but never renewed it. I'm not running in the Summit SuperSeries any more so I don't need an IHRA competition number on my car. All it took to get the license was to fill out the paperwork and send it in.
If I could get a license without having to pay for the Drag Review magazine at inflated prices to send to Canada, I'd probably renew my license.
I don't even need a chassis certification until 8.99.
NHRA rules are a lot more strict which is really forcing the faster grass roots racers away from the track. Between 8.50 and 9.99 IHRA and NHRA rules are not the same.
