Welcome to the board and glad your into the LT1.See my mods in sig b/l but my improvements in et/mph have been hard to come by due to a dying opti which finally died last fall.If i get everything sorted out and able to run in Sep08 i am hoping for 12.9,s@103/104.

I've ran 12.09 at 113mph with only "bolt-ons" NA, although I bolted on a GMPP intake and carb (which some people argue over). My car has Hooker long tubes, roller rockers, true dual exhaust, 3.73 gears, 3000rpm stall, lighter wheels and tires, 37 degrees of timing.

The key for getting them to run good is to lose weight, they are very heavy cars. The only bolt-on cars that have run quicker than me weigh much less than my car did last year.

Coming from mustangs myself I was shocked at what these cars weigh and the old drag racing rule of 100lb equal a 1/10th of a second really means alot. My last coupe weighed 2700 my camaro was over 3300, thats alot of ET difference just based on weight.

keep the Fox body and put an SBC in it and you can run 11s with "bolt-ons"

CamaroRacing12 to answer your question....LOSE alot of weight or switch to carb!!! Yes, you may have to sacrifice some "comfort" but getting *** paddled by very stockish mustangs is embarrasing.

Back to the weight: I had a stock 1991 5.0 A4 car I gave my girlfriend, she took it to the track and it ran a 14.99 stone stock, I was embarrased for her so I put some Welds, better tires, 4.10 gears, new "secret" convertor, shift kit, added timing and some other cheap-o mods and it ran 12.90's. Added ST's and good exhaust plus a good alignment and it ran 12.40's in the heat. That was with AC, stereo, no gutting.

The other thing about getting a camaro is that they are much harder to work on versus a mustang and the Camaro's rear is a piece of crap compared to the 8.8.
