Re: Launching

put it in drive and let the auto shift by itself. Basically you can either launch off idle, or press your brake and the accelerator stalling it up to around 1000 to 1500 rpms and take off from there. If you don't have drag radials I wouldnt go full throttle off the line, because most likely you will spin pretty good. Get the feel of the car, and you should start to feel how much gas you can give it at the start and still get traction. Once you do get traction you wanna make sure you go WOT as soon as possible.

Re: Launching

Yea, I have an auto, I just basically stall it up as high as I can and I floor it off the line. I have Mickey Thompson drag radials and they dead hook every time. I really need a stall converter though, so I can cut some really decent 60 ft times.

Re: Launching

well changing the rev limiter wont change the launch any, because once you go above between 1500-1800 rpms your tires will start to spin and you will probably lunge forward and get a redlight. My rev limiter was raised a little as well as my shift points.....they were done by madwolf (madz28.com)

Re: Launching

Will you end up being faster if you launch at high rpms and spin the tires or roll into it and not spin them at all?

Re: Launching

I got better 60 foots when I rolled into it, you gotta practice though and get on it as soon as you can.
