AJE K members

They are all imo about the same it is just which design do you like most and what price deal you can get. ARE has one as well and not sure on the price but they were having a special a while back.

Are you going to sell your PA racing K-member?? Let me know because I am very interested. Thanks in advance.

My question is, which one is the lightest setup for the street and how much weight can you possibly take off?

I've also read here that the PA chromoly k frame isn't for street use even though it's the lightest out of the BMR and PA units. Can anyone shed some info on this?

BMR might come in a bit lighter than the PA cause of the motor mount issue put in and I actually might just weigh the two side by side since I have both here for diff cars just for some side to side comparison. I personally like the looks of the PA versus the BMR as for fluidity of the bars. Welds look about the same on both, I talked to PA on my first set i had and they replaced the a-arms without a hesitation cause of a bad looking weld when they got a new welder in he didn't pull the quality level.

Stock K member is 54-56# depending on year and convertible or not PA Racing K member is 16-17# Can take another 1/2# off too.(at an extra charge) Talked to Pa about this when i was selling them. Stock a arms are 26# PA Racing A Arms are 13#
The chromoly is considerably stiffer than the mild steel from talking to PA and they said to stay with mild steel if it is a mainly street driven car cause with the mild steel will give a lil bit rather than crack on the welds.

So roughly 39# for the k member 13# for the a arms and then if you get into lightweight brakes etc... Not sure on weight saving for the upper a-arms but there should not be very much loss there. I lost tons of weight going to tubular front end, and lightweight brakes which actually ballanced the car for the water intercooler system in the front of my car.

My reasons for liking the AJE over both the BMR and the PA is there is more room for a dry sump system

Thanx for the info. As for the weight difference between the BMR and PA k member, if you weight them let me know. I'd like to see if there is a significant difference.

I do like the way the PA looks but I'll choose the lightest.

I don't think there's gonna be much of a weight difference between the two. Maybe a pound or two.

I fitted my long tubes up on the motor w/ the k-member attached and had no fittment problems. Plenty of room actually.

Ok thanks that makes me feel a little bit better I did look at Wayne Edelens pics on his website and he said his headers were already dented in a little bit because of mushy motor mounts but you could tell it was hitting the stock k-member. He also told me that one of his friends had to grind on the k-member to get his Hookers to fit.

Are the motor mounts on the AJE k-member the same style as the PA mounts? Or are they like the BMR piece?

The motor mounts on the AJE unit is more like the PA than the BMR.
