I agree with what everyone has mentioned here, but I have had fairly good results with the stock rear end over the years. I finally went with a 12bolt, but I drove on my [Edit] 10bolt [edit] all last year (9000miles) with ~480rw NA and a street twin. Even ran it at the track quite a bit....although only on drag radials. ET Streets would have killed it, but I drove it pretty hard at the track and was suprised how well it held up. TA cover/girdle is all it had (3.73s).

I think Jason meant 10-bolt .

I, on the other hand, grenaded my rear (4 spider gear teeth in the carrier) on the first launch with my street twin and nittos. Also ruined my driveshaft's u-joints and had to have it rebalanced. This was on a ~3500 clutch dump (only cut a 2.01 60!).

I won't go back without a 12bolt, unless I'm on street tires.

Good luck!
Ryan

It was at an 1/8th mile track. Best run was 7.200 @ 96 on a 1.55 60ft time. That was on an NX 150hp. I have a second stage of gas on it but didn't use it because I didn't have my ignition box on to pull more timing.
