Just came back from dragstrip for the 1st time

Well it was certainly a fun night although my 1/4 times weren't quite what I wanted but my MPH tells me that there's room for improvement. My best run was a 14.2 with a 2.3 60' ( I have 2 year old goodyear eagle HP's that weren't hooking up at all) and I would've gotten a 13.9 or so if I hadn't missed the 3rd-4th shift, doh!! My best MPH was 102 which means my car, given it can hook up eventually and drop the 60' times, should be able to do around 13.5 right? All in all I'm fairly happy cos I at least know she has more in her I just need better tires and some suspension mods to get it out of her. She does seem to run alot better on the street though, and I wasn't the only one having problems hooking up either, I think track prep was a little ****ty tonight but I had fun so f'ck it

On paper a 13.5 is a possibility with your mph. It takes practice to become proficient at launching effectively and powershifting which will be necessary to achieve that type of ET or quicker. Many tracks do not spend much time prepping on street nights so that may have something t do with having problems hooking up. Also, launching a M6 on street tires is an art form. I think you did very well for the first time out. Be careful, it can be addicting, especially when you learn about bracket racing, trophies and money.

Yeah its definately fun, I wanna go back again. Too bad its like a 2+ hour drive depending on traffic and I have to go through Boston to get there On a side note I think there was a bad accident on the way home with some people who were at the track. I guess they didnt get their fill and decided to race on the highway and all I know is they were cleaning up glass for like 200 yards and there was blood on the road Hopefully no one died or was seriously injured but I dunno.

yeah, i agree that with some decent 60's, u should be somewhere in the mid-high 13 second range.

I know LS1 and LT1 is like apples and oranges, but yes, my LS1 runs a 13.5 at 103 with a 2.0 60 foot. Get some tires and you'll make it!
