improved 1/4 by .3 but same MPH???

I race at a local fbody shootout this past weekend and I got a new best, I went from a previous best of 13.65 @ 103.1 to a new best of 13.31 @ 103.2. I dropped a little more than 3 tenths but barely increased my MPH

I did remove about 100lbs of crap from the car, tweeked the tune a bit by, removing some knock I was getting, increasing some low rpm timing, and firmed up the shifts. But I don't see how that helped my ET that much but not the MPH

60' was 2.080 for the old best (street tires)
and 1.924 for the new best (same tires)

Dakota mentioned the weather well the last best was in colder weather, time slip said it was 43* for the 13.6 best and i know it wasn't anywhere near that cold this weekend.
