I want 13.50s!

Last Friday I got to run with my new mods on for the first time (see sig.) I ran a best of 14.09@101.76 2.3 60' bone stock and BFG G-Force street tires. Friday I got 13.80@102.76 2.16 60' on BFG Comp TA DRs. All I wanted then was 13s. Now I want the best time my car is capable of.

The name of the game here is clearly my 60'. It sucks . I'm by no means a pro with DRs and need some advice. I ran 12 PSI and launched at 4k. I could have been a bit harder on it and still hooked. I'm pretty sure that the PSI is too low and I'm launching too high. What would be an optimal setup for the best 60' I can get? Thanks in advance.

Bingo! You want the PSI on those in the high teens. Since I have never launched an M6 at the track, I can't help you with what RPM to launch at, but I know 4k is too much. Cut a 2.00 and you'll be in 13.5 range easy, maybe lower.

I've had fits trying to get my car to hook as well. Even with Nittos my best 60' was a crappy 2.0x. Less air pressure and more psi. A friend of mine ran the bfgs at 10psi on his stang. Be careful though. Make slow adjustment and make sure your car doesn't get squirrely on the topend.

Maybe some suspension mods would help. Its also possible your clutch could be slipping if it is stock.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try 18 PSI and go from there. I'm thinkin doing a PHR to complement the LCAs I have. As for the clutch slipping, I doubt it. Its been replaced 7,000 miles ago and yeah its stock but should still be good I would think . Regardless I'm goin to replace it when I can with a Mcleod or the SLP setup at a later time since I bus tables for a living and have other things I need to get squared away first. Experimentation is whats needed and now I have somewhere to start. Thanks again.

Pratice that launch, or pick up a set of LT. You will have no probs with LT's.

Yeah, I have to practice my launch. LTs are whats getting me my 12.90s. I want to be one of those LT1 bolt on cars in the 12s. I'm picking some Jet-Hots up this summer. Thanks guys.
