I know some of you guys have convertibles...

I've been thinking of going to the track to see what I could pull...Stock A4 98 Z28 vert 2.73's...I'm thinking low 14's, but would the track still require me to have a roll cage since so many coupes run 13's and that's what they would expect? I don't want to get kicked out of the track if some miracle lands me a 13.999...lol...But I don't have the cash to dish out for a roll cage...

PS- Any 98-99 vert guys here run stock? What'd you get?

LoL, I think I have the slowest possible combination for a Z28...that sucks...

Don't worry about running under 14sec with a stock 'vert, 2.73's and an automatic. Back when mine was stock (M6, 3.42) it sure never came close to that. Mine is an LT1 though, now I see you have an LS1. But 13's still seem unlikely.

Most LS1 verts with 2.73 will run 14.0-14.1 in good weather at our local tracks (700" elevation). Go and have fun.

My vert runs 15.20's to 14.70's deep staging. '95 LT1, 2.73 gears A4. I'm not even close to being tossed out. Like others said, go have fun. On a side note of being the slowest, this car took out several 10 second cars this year bracket racing.

The new rules are 13.5 for verts but think you can run faster even if your car is under the new stock rules. It was 13.99 for verts last year but buddy ran 13.48 in his near stock ws6 m6 and don't think he got kicked have to ask him.
Not sure exactly what mods he had think a lid and maf and mabye nittos.

I managed a best of 14.3 with a 2.18 60ft with my 96 lt1 with 3.42 gears,magnaflow catback,1le bellows,air induction,tb bypass,maft translator,nittos.

I ran 15.0 the time before with 2.73 and no magnaflow and street tires and no maft.

Plan on pushing the envelope this year with 1.6 rockers, underdrive and 2800 vig.Think will get pretty darn close to 13.5 or under.Thats why kind of wondering about the new " stock rule" mods ..what mods..

And ls1 vert will likely be around that 14 range unless you are very good altitudes like sea level. Our track is 1900 above sea level and density air is usually really bad.
