Lightbulb THE REAL POINT HERE PEOPLE IS...

...You don't have to catch low .5XX lights all the time!! ALL you have to do is get a BETTER light than your opponent. This alone increases your chances of winning VASTLY!

Now... putting a low .5XX on an opponent in time trials or race conditions, sends him a very strong message. This PERSON can LEAVE and they'll consider that whenever racing you! Head games... very important in Drag-A-Racing!

In my glory years, people didn't want to pull up beside me in the burnout box... those races where 95% won already! (I raced motorcycles so the line-up proceedure was a little hecktic.)

I am finding cars to be more difficult to race consistantly, even though with my motorcycle I shifted 5 gears, everytime.

Great Point Hink! I can't begin to count on the races I have won because the other driver redlit simply because of intimidation.

I will change my tactics depending on many factors. If I am at a track where I am relatively unknown (getting harder and harder to find these places), I like to cut a bunch of lazy lights and be a Newbie. Often I am taken lightly and that too can be an advantage.

They got Dragstrips in Maine???? NO!!! What do you do with all the lobsters crawling onto the track???

Another point TnT... You every notice how someone has always got YOUR number? A person you cannot beat? I had a couple of them long ago. The more you lose to them, the harder your head games become. He's got YOU! That sux!

Yesterday I ran the NMCA race at NPR in Louisiana. EFI is run off a 500 protree and you can deepstage. I had been cutting .517 to .540 lights in qualifing deep. First round I had single because my opponent didn't show and had .500 light on protree. Second round didn't realize opponent wasn't going deep and my tree came on result, late. Its the old hero to a zero syndrome. Frank95z

You got a 500 on PROTREE!!! That's insane. They had ProTree at MIR for one of the events and I got one of the best R/T's for that too, but that was like a .71x Seriously, I don't know how to get any quicker unless you guess when it's gonna go, lol.

On the .500 protree we were allowed to deep stage. I was .517 to .540 deep and on the .500 I took one bump after turning out top light. Frank95z

I wound up an opponent yesterday...

It was deep in eliminations, 4th round, and my car is broken so I had a dealer loaner Lumina running a screaming 17 seconds and in the other lane was this guy dialing 19.2 or something. He is a good driver.

Anyway, I talked to him first and told him how good I was feeling and showed him my last two slips with 510 lights....

Sure enough, he bulbs.

To add insult to injury, I sat there another couple of tenths, cut a .800 light and broke out by a tenth. He was screaming all the way up and down the track he would never talk to me again before a race.

That may work in Maine but in Louisiana if you show me a 510 light I figure that this round you're going to be late. But then I'm the eternal optimist Frank95z

Arrow #1 Head Game Cheap Trick!!

I ain't talkin' to EITHER of you before a race!!

That is one thing I don't care to hear of from an opponent. It's not what you did last round, it's what you are gonna do against me! Now me... I would leave an exposed time slip on the seat or sumpin'!
