I heel/toe everytime i go to do a burnout. heel on the brakes and toes on the gas. Its not needed at all but for autocrossing its a great skill to maintain. Plus its easy with a size 13 foot and a skinny pair of pumas on

Because the stock rev limiter cuts fuel, and not ignition..

So it is almost promoting detonation at high rpm?

I simply press the break hard with the left half of my right foot and give it a lot of gas with the right half then dump the clutch. My right foot controls both petals, it takes some geting used to to be able to angel your foot well enough to get a grip on both pedals. I was able to do this well in my 240sx and my 86 mustang gt. I tried it once in my trans am and heard some loud grinding sounds with only 1 tire spinning so I have never attempted it again!!

Wow ... Doing a burn out in 2nd gear, I would never hold it at 5K.

At the most, I would keep it spinning at 4,000RPMs ...

Usually when I do a burn out, as stated above, I pull out clutch all the way out, and heel toe it with a little bit of brake, and some gas I usually spin it up at about 3500RPM's ... No need to wind it all the way out ... Especially on street tires. No I see how some people blow thier motors so easily lol.

Re: How do you burnout in an M6?

When I burnout at the track I usually hold it around 4500 RPM in 2nd gear, but I have Nitto DRs. It takes some practice, but that's mostly cause at first I was afraid of hurting something, but what I ended up doing was burning the clutch out because I didn't drop it, I slipped it. I thought the tires were spinning when it was actually the clutch, lol. Just get brave with it and have a good time. Or just get some gears and make it easier on yourself.
