A "how did I do" thread at the track!

This was the 2nd time I've ran the car at a local 1/4 mile drag strip. Here are my numbers

R/T .415
60' 2.165
330 5.933
1/8 9.107
MPH 78.56
1000 11.782
1/4 14.038
MPH 100.65

This was the best "run" I had at the track. The first one, I bogged down the launch and pulled a 14.2, the second I gave too much gas and squealed my way to a 14.3. Mod's are in sig. My "goal" was to reach 13's... are my numbers ok? Does the car not have it? Or should I mod it out a bit?

The sixty foot time is a little slow get a good set of drag radials and 13's will be very easy to reach for you good luck!!!

Thanks fireturd, but I'm trying to get there "100% street". Not even deflating the rear tires.... I have the $$, what would put me there (-NOS ). Had a buddy there who brought a set for his buddy's corvette, but I turned him down. All street baby!

Actually, deflating the rear "street" tires is a bad idea. The rest I'm a little confused about. Your willing to mod but won't do one of the first and most important things, find traction. You will find it harder and more expensive to be quicker if that is your outlook.

its ok if you dont want DR's but they will no doubt get you better times. but if you just want to make the best of what you can with street tires thats cool to. but things like lower control arm relocation brackets (which are like 60 bucks) will give you 1-2 tenths i bet. it will help your traction alot. better shocks, removing your front sway bar or unbolting one side, taking off weight.

as for the tires like said before deflating then wont help, but if you normally use like 45lbs in them for gas milege going down to around 35 probably will. going low to like 20 will get you worse times. you just want to get as much tread on the road as possible.

If he's staying "pure street", removing/unbolting the swaybar is probably a no-no, as are many forms of weight reduction.

The best thing any M6 driver can do is practice the launch and your shifting. I gained 2MPH just by improving my shifting. I still don't have the launch figured out.

practice will get you lots of improved times for sure. its hard to launch good without gettting help from suspension mods though.

I totally agree........with 1.6rr's and 5 trips to the track I went from mid 14's to a personal best of 13.67 and I'm still running stock manifolds........My biggest gain was my 60ft times my first few trips to the track I was around 2.3-2.4.........Now I average 2.0-2.1, and I don't care what the others say but I dropped my crappy Nangkang 245/40/18's down to around 30psi and it help. I gave them a quick spin to clean them off.......If I did a burnout they turned all gooey so I haven't done it since...........You can get to the 13's,work the clutch a little bit, it'll help you get off the line....If not it'll either bog the engine or spin the tires....Try leaving anywhere from 5600 up to 6000Rpms ...........and as also just have fun
